Kalsubai Trek

Kalsubai is the highest peak in Maharashtra. This is located in Igatpuri Taluka. It is located 54 feet above sea level. This is also a medium to hard trek. Hey you can get an amazing spectacular view. This peak lies in the Sahyadri mountain range. The Kalsubai Harishchandragad wildlife sanctuary is situated under this mountain range. Bari is the base of this trip. It takes one day to complete. A 3 to 4 hours journey will take you to the peak. While doing this trek always carry your ID proof. Kasara Railway head is the nearest railway head in kalsubai trek. If you are planning a trip to kalsubai from Mumbai then it takes 5 hours to reach.

 

Andharban Trek

Andherban simply means a dark deep forest. This is a trek that is full of thrill and refreshment. It is the most beautiful trek in Sahyadri. This place connects two places one is Konkan region and the Tamhini ghat. This place is situated in the Pimpri region of Maharashtra. It is 16 km from Pune. If you wish to experience the pleasure of a beautiful deep forest and the total view then you must visit this place. While doing this trekking you can listen to the chirping sound of small birds. You can do the trek in monsoon season. In monsoon you can experience the lush green grass on the forest trail. Here you can also explore some big water streams. This place is situated 2100 feet above the sea level. This trek is popular for a variety of species of colourful and beautiful butterflies and some elegant wild flowers.

Ratangad Trek

This Fort trek is a part of kalsubai range in the sahyadris. Here you can explore some of the best views of some amazing peaks of  Sahyadris around you. Here you can spot the Bhandardara dam. It is located at an altitude of 4255 feet. This is a moderate trek and can be completed within 4.5 to 5 hours. This trek begins from a village called Ratanwadi. After entering this village you can take a glance of the temple Amruteshwar. This is a very old temple of 1200 years. The trekking trail goes through some fields and flat areas. You can climb on the dam that was built on the river. In front of the fort you need to climb a little more to reach the fort. 

 

Anjaneri

In mythology this is the birthplace of Lord Hanuman. This place is situated 20 km from Nashik. This is a very popular attraction in the city of Nashik. This is a religious place among Hindus. Here you can explore a small Jain temple, Caves and a food shaped lake on the way to the Hanuman temple. The total trekking path is filled with beautiful and huge Meadows with flower beds. The middle is about 4 kilometres long. First you need to head towards Anjani Mata temple which is 1.2 km and take 40 minutes to complete. From this Temple you need to head towards Hanuman temple that is 1.5 km from here and it takes 1 hour to complete. You can visit here anytime of the year but if you plan for a trip in the post monsoon season then this time you can get some beautiful blooming flowers on the meadows. Trekking in the Boulder parts is a little tricky on this trip but if you wear good trekking shoes then you can easily cover these tricky sections of the trail. A lot of monkeys will approach you for food on the trail, be aware of them.

Rajmachi:

Rajmachi is situated in Lonavala. This is an easy trek that is situated at 2710 feet above sea level. This is a perfect place to visit in the winter season. There are two routes to reach the Rajmachi fort. You can visit here from Karjat or from Lonavala. Here you will find two caves that provide 40 people at a time. The names of the caves are Manaranjan and Shirvardhan. The total fort was built by Shivaji Maharaj in the 17th century. In the monsoon season this is a perfect place to visit. This place never bore you.
